Curious, not fearful. Grounded, not dismissive.
The aim isn’t to entertain speculation or induce fear. It’s to give our church a clear, grounded framework for something many of us are already encountering informally, whether through curiosity, culture, or content online.
We want to leave this series more biblically literate, less anxious, and more aware of the story we’re living in.
Eight Teachings
One story, two parts.
Four weeks in the Old Testament’s account of cosmic rebellion. Four weeks in the New Testament, where that rebellion meets its answer.
Part 1
The Rebellion
One continuous story of cosmic rebellion, beginning in Eden and spreading out into the rest of the world.
The Fall
Genesis 3:1–15
Cosmic rebellion behind human sin, and God’s first promise of redemption.
The Flood
Genesis 6:1–8
A boundary violation that corrupts creation and results in the spread of evil cosmic powers.
The Tower
Genesis 11:1–9 · Deuteronomy 32:8–9
Humanity’s third rebellion: a proud, centralized bid to make a name apart from God.
The Divine Council
Psalm 82 · Job 1:6–12 · 1 Kings 22:19–23
A glimpse behind the curtain to see the spiritual realities that have been a part of creation since the beginning.
Part 2
The Rescue
The rescue mission God’s been planning: the coming of the King.
The Invasion of the Kingdom
Mark 5:1–20
When Jesus comes, he brings the Kingdom with him — an in-breaking of the presence of God against the powers of darkness.
Oppression & Deliverance
Luke 11:14–23
What oppression is and isn’t, how deliverance works, and how an ordinary believer engages without fear or indifference.
Temptation
Matthew 4:1–11
Temptation isn’t a sign of weak faith. It’s the terrain every follower of Jesus walks.
Slaying the Dragon
Revelation 12:1–11
Hope, not dread, because the outcome of this cosmic battle is already settled.
