What is a Triad?

At Passion Creek, our goal is to make disciples who reorient their lives to be formed by Jesus, together, for others. But this isn't something you can do on your own. Throughout centuries, Christians have recognized the need for close-knit friendships centered around accountability in the way of Jesus.

Triads don't replace Together Groups — they supplement them as a more focused and protected space for transformation. During Triad meetings you'll share your sins and struggles as well as your growth, you'll listen for God together, and you'll help each other take intentional steps of obedience each week.

Triads are aimed at something deeper than behavior modification. The aim is to slowly offer healing at the deepest parts of our souls: our motivations, desires, and longings.

A Triad at a glance

The Purpose

Triads have three goals.

01

Confession

Provide a safe space to bring sin into the light.

02

Discernment

Help you learn to discern God's movement in your life.

03

Accountability

Hold you accountable in obeying God's invitations.

The Commitments

What every Triad member agrees to.

Triads are safe, vulnerable, and holy spaces. These three commitments are what make them safe for sharing.

01

Consistency

Commit to showing up. Meet weekly or bi-weekly, and don't go longer than two weeks between meetings — trust comes from consistency.

02

Compassion

When someone shares something vulnerable, meet them with the love of Jesus — not advice or solutions, unless asked.

03

Confidentiality

Whatever is shared during your Triad meeting stays with the Group — with the exception of threat of harm to oneself or another.

How It Works

How a Triad meeting works.

Expect to spend 15–20 minutes on each person. Triads exist to support you as you walk with Jesus, not to fix or solve your problems.

The Rhythm · Every Meeting

Four simple movements

  1. Opening Prayer — invite the Spirit into your time together.
  2. Discussion — shared reading, or a simple check-in.
  3. The Questions — work through all six with one person before moving to the next.
  4. Closing Prayer — give God what was shared and leave with open hands.
The Questions · One Person at a Time

The six questions

  1. How is it with your soul?
  2. Where have you struggled and where have you seen growth this week?
  3. What is God saying to you now?
  4. Do you have any sin to bring into the light?
  5. Is there anything you're keeping hidden?
  6. What is one step of obedience God is calling you to take?

Questions 4–6 require more vulnerability — there's no pressure in Triads, only invitations. The full guide walks through each question, plus the opening and closing prayers: download the Triad Guide.
