John 14:12-31 CSB | Caleb Martinez | June 22, 2025
OVERVIEW
In the hours before his arrest Jesus tells His disciples that he’s leaving. Though it sounds like he’s abandoning them, he’s actually preparing them for a deeper kind of presence—the Holy Spirit dwelling within them. While they longed for a kingdom with power and a king they could follow in the flesh, Jesus redefines their expectations by promising a Spirit who would guide, counsel, and empower them from the inside out. This paradigm shift invites not just the disciples, but us today, to see ourselves as Spirit-filled participants in God’s mission called to bring peace to a broken world.
