In Acts 4-7, the church suddenly experiences persecution. Religious leaders and elites give in to their anxiety and start harassing the disciples with interrogations and threats. But instead of toning down their message, the church gets bolder. The disciples of Jesus remains a stable non-anxious presence amidst the fear of the culture around him. And like the church in Acts, we also have a choice: we can either tone down our message or get bolder in proclaiming it.
